At- Risk Populations Project

The Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) received a grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to develop recommendations on how to protect at-risk populations, such as those which are culturally isolated or have limited English proficiency (LEP), during an influenza pandemic.

Deaths Related to 2009 Pandemic Influenza A (H1N1) Among American Indian/Alaska Natives

This MMWR article descrives the disproportionate number of H1N1 related deaths among American Indian/Alaska Natives. According to an investigation which spanned 12 states, the rate of H1N1 related deaths in AI/AN was 4.0 times higher than death rates for all other racial/ethnic populations.
