Description:

This set of online courses provides guidance for medical personnel, disaster mental health and social workers, public health service officers, and disaster relief organization employees responding to the needs of diverse communities following a disaster. The curriculum is grounded in OMH’s CLAS Standards which spans the topics of culturally competent care, language access services, and organizational supports. Using real life scenarios, the curricula provides training on issues such as working with interpreters, locating translated materials, negotiating cultural differences, and implementing the CLAS Standards into organizational policy.
