Description:

This literature review of disaster preparedness resources was conducted to create a measurement or comparison template to be applied in the San Francisco Bay area. The literature review focuses on the affects of urbanization and socio-economic status and how they relate to disaster preparedness. Additionally, it discusses the lack of social, political, and economic influence of many of the most at-risk populations. The review concludes that no field-wide disaster preparedness models have been tested and thus the only realistic recommendations for the implementation of a disaster preparedness template would be the development of a new model.
