Description:

Formed in 1980, Boat People SOS (BPSOS) has served to empower Vietnamese communities by providing resources and initiatives which focus on the needs Vietnamese American communities. In the wake of Hurricane Katrina and Rita many of the 30,000 Vietnamese in the Gulf Coast Region are still seeking timely help and information from mainstream relief agencies. BPSOS’s 14 branch offices have helped Vietnamese evacuees access FEMA assistance and have provided them with benefits, housing, legal, and emergency assistance.
