Description:

This article describes cultural barriers which impeded the recovery of the Vietnamese community following Hurricane Katrina.  Despite large scale recovery efforts to provide aid to Hurricane Katrina victims, Vietnamese communities were often unaware or unable to fully take advantage of resources due cultural and language barriers.  This story describes the efforts of Boat People SOS in helping the Vietnamese community with the logistics of rebuilding and receiving federal aid.
