This resource describes a number of lessons learned from working with immigrants and limited English proficient (LEP) communities in disasters and promising practices for government, disaster-relief agencies, and community-based organizations. Hyperlinks are included throughout the document that link to firsthand accounts from individuals who have worked with immigrant communities in disaster and some the specific challenges they faced. Such issues include the loss of immigration documents following a disaster and fear of deportation.
