Natural Disasters and Cultural Responses: Studies in Third World Societies

In this book Anthony Oliver-Smith has collected a series of anthropological works which examine social and cultural elements in disaster response and recovery in third world societies around the globe.  Studies which depict cultural variations in disaster response are presented from geographic locales such as Bangladesh, Western Sudan, and Alaska.
