Despite Last Year's Devastating Hurricane Season, One-Third in High-Risk Areas Say They May Ignore Evacuation Order

This press release describes the results of a survey administered in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Texas by the Harvard School of Public Health on emergency evacuations. One-third of those surveyed stated that they would not, or may not evacuate if they were instructed to evacuate by government officials. The press release also discusses the demographics of those surveyed, as well as the availibility of resources to those stating that they would or would not evacuate, and their faith in being rescued if need be.
