Following the night club shooting in Orlando that left 50 people dead and 53 others wounded, medical professionals and first responders grapple with how to provide more timely care to victims and prevent mass bleed outs. A potential solution is to educate the public on hemorrhage control and trauma response. Having bystanders who can provide immediate assistance in emergencies and properly apply tourniquets could be the difference between life and death.
